I am Love

This collection is an homage to Frida Kahlo — a symbol of strength, vulnerability, and fearless feminine expression. More than a muse, Frida is an eternal icon: a visionary, a wounded healer, a woman who transformed pain into power and suffering into art.

Her life was marked by physical and emotional trials. After surviving polio as a child, she was left with a limp she often disguised beneath flowing skirts. A brutal bus accident in her teens shattered her body, leading to countless surgeries, lifelong pain, and the inability to bear children.

And yet, she lived with fierce color, radical honesty, and unmatched artistry. Her self-portraits became mirrors of her soul — unfiltered, raw, vulnerable.

Her love story with Diego Rivera, Mexico’s most famous painter, was as intense as it was turbulent. They were bound by shared ideals, artistic admiration, and emotional chaos. He was large, dominant, and unapologetically unfaithful; she, delicate, fiery, and profoundly loyal. Frida once said, “There have been two great accidents in my life. One was the bus. The other was Diego. Diego was by far the worst.”

And yet, she forgave him — not out of weakness, but from the fierce power of love that lived inside her.

It is Frida’s sweet, untamed feminine nature that inspired this collection. Her authenticity — in spirit, in style, in suffering — is its soul. She remained true to herself, dressing in traditional Tehuana costumes, proudly showing her unibrow, her mustache, her unshaven armpits — refusing to conform, refusing to hide. She wore her truth like a crown.

But “I Am Love” is not about the pain — it is about Frida’s transformation. In this collection, my Frida is reborn. She transcends suffering, realizing it was only an illusion — a call to awaken. She allows her pain to pull her into the present moment, into the depth of conscious presence, where only love remains.

My Frida realized that the feminine was never meant to stand in the shadow of male genius. She is the fire itself. She holds the creative force and the inner eye of wisdom.

And then, my Frida returns — not to Mexico, but to Tatarstan, my own roots, the land of my childhood. In her return, two cultures embrace: Mexican and Tatar. Their traditional garments, floral motifs, and ornamental details blend with grace, as if they had always belonged together.

I chose only the finest fabrics — mostly natural, soft to the touch. Some pieces are made from luxurious cotton, delicately infused with rose essence, Frida’s favorite scent, making them not only visually unique, but sensually irresistible to wear.

My Frida came to Tatarstan and felt something profound — the authenticity of her being reflected back to her… and for the first time, she felt at home.
